EGFP mRNA表达了一个增强型绿色荧光蛋白，该蛋白最初从维多利亚水母中获得。EGFP是一种哺乳动物细胞中常用的可直接检测的报告基因，可产生明亮的绿色荧光，发射峰为509nm。

EGFP mRNA使用了TriLink特有的共转录加帽试剂CleanCap进行加帽，该加帽试剂可产生Cap 1结构，并具有高效的加帽效率。EGFP mRNA是多聚腺苷酸化的，并针对哺乳动物系统进行了优化，模仿完全加工的成熟mRNA。
