cAMP(环磷酸腺苷)是最重要的“第二信使”之一,参与心血管和神经系统、免疫机制、细胞生长和分化以及一般新陈代谢过程。腺苷酸环化酶可将ATP转化为cAMP,目前,已经有多种激素被证明能够通过腺苷酸环化酶的作用激活cAMP。因此,对于组织和细胞内cAMP浓度的检测仍是目前生命科学领域中的研究热点。


cGMP(环磷酸鸟苷)是由鸟苷酸环化酶作用于GTP形成的,在大多数组织中,cGMP含量通常比cAMP低10-100倍。cGMP被公认为是一氧化氮致使平滑肌细胞松弛(导致血管舒张)的关键信号,并且作为钠离子通道的调节因子(通过其被磷酸二酯酶降解)对光转导起关键作用。一些激素(如乙酰胆碱、胰岛素和催产素)以及某些化学物质(如血清素和组胺)会引起机体中cGMP水平的上升。并且鸟苷酸环化酶的刺激物,如血管扩张剂硝普钠、硝酸甘油、硝酸钠和一氧化氮(NO)等物质,也会引起cGMP水平的变化。
