[1] Abacavir is a carbocyclic 2′-deoxyguanosine nucleoside analogue. It is metabolised intracellularly to a 2′-deoxyguanosine nucleoside analogue which competitively inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase and terminates proviral DNA chain extension. [2] |
