细胞表面受体TLR5可识别鞭毛蛋白,后者是革兰氏阳性菌和革兰氏阴性菌表面鞭毛丝的主要成份。TLR5活化后通过MyD88信号通路促进一些炎症因子的释放。TLR5通过形成同源二聚体来激活炎症信号通路,这显示它可能是唯一参与鞭毛蛋白识别的TLR分子。
